General Forum Code of Conduct
We would like to keep the language at a PG-13 level on all of the boards.
Our fan fiction and fan art boards allow for some over-18 or R-rated material, but do keep conversation on these boards PG-13, regardless.
We expect and insist on good manners and respectful behavior towards your fellow board members, admins, and moderators.
It's a good idea to read over your post before sending it out, reviewing it for content and most importantly, tone of voice.
Be aware that posting threats (on the boards or via personal message), engaging in personal attacks, bringing outside arguments into the forums, and insulting others (also known as 'flaming') will under no circumstances be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.
By definition, most of these things fall under the umbrella of 'trolling', which brings us to:
Do not engage! I repeat, do not engage! With trolls, that is.
You've read your Tolkien, you've seen The Hobbit (presumably) - it usually doesn't go too well. Trust me on this one.
If you believe that somebody on the forums is purposefully antagonizing or insulting anyone (including yourself, your loved ones, other forum members, Sean, the forum itself, humanity in general...), don't ignore it.
Consult your fellowship (that's us!) by sending a PM to your admin or moderators and we will take care of it.
How do we take care of it, you ask? Well, for one, we have frying pans (cast iron, baby!) and we're not afraid to use them!
You have been warned...
In all seriousness, though trolling will just get you suspended from this forum (quickly) and banned. Indefinitely if need be.
You know better than to do that.

It is of course important to make the distinction between a serious personal attack and a mere difference of opinion (which is of course perfectly okay as long as it doesn't escalate). Understand that a troll is not someone who pisses you off because their opinion is different than yours.
Posting FAQ
What kinds of photos and links can I post?
Images and links throughout the forum should stay clearly within the PG-13 range. Use common sense here.
The only exception to this rule are the designated areas of our Fan Art and Fan Fiction boards where R-rated content is allowed.
For more information, please refer to the individual posting rules on these boards.
Also check if any of the images you're about to post are personally copyrighted to an individual or an organization that might have an issue with people taking their stuff and posting it somewhere else. If in doubt, you can always ask them for permission or PM your admin (or individual forum moderators) with the link in question. Then of course, you can just post the link to the relevant picture on the forum.
Needless to say, make sure that your links are safe.
What are the rules concerning paparazzi photos and video?
Not all paparazzi photos and videos are prohibited on this board - but those that intrude on Sean's ability to have a private life are.
If in doubt, ask yourself these questions:
- Does this look like a private photo that was not meant for public display?
If in doubt, ask yourself these questions:
- Does this look like a private photo that was not meant for public display?
- Was the photo taken at a public place or event?
- Do Sean, his family, friends, or co-stars seem aware of being photographed? Generally, pictures taken of Sean and those around him in working environments (film, TV, etc.), at public events, or publicity shots/promotions are fine to post and very welcome. If you are unsure whether a picture is OK, just ask your Admin/Moderator before posting it. We're here to help!
Can I post spoilers on the movie and TV boards?
If you've got information to share about any of Sean's new film or TV projects, we want to hear it! But please, clearly mark your thread or post header with the word, "Spoilers" so that members who prefer not to be spoiled won't get an unpleasant surprise.
What about off-topic posts?
If you decide to post something that's off-topic, please start a new thread with the letters "OT" in your topic headline.
Also be sure to check existing topics before you start posting a new one. This makes it easier for us to keep the forum organized.
