Forums aren't always easy to navigate. We have put together a few questions and answers here to help you get started and figure out all of the different features of our message boards. For more details on these questions and more, please consult the ProBoards Help Guide.

Now, first....
A: Easy. Click on a message board where you would like to post your thread (Introductions, for example).
This will open the board's list of topics. In the top-right hand corner of the grey header, click on the area titled Create Thread.
This will take you right to a message window where you can write your thread.
When you're done, click the white Create Thread button at the bottom to post.
Q: How do I reply to a post?
A: You have three options here:
1) Quick Reply There is a Quick Reply box at the bottom of every thread. This is a good idea when you just want to reply without any pictures, hyperlinks, or formatting.
2) Regular Reply There is a Reply button in the top-right corner of every post. Click it to reply directly to an individual post. This will take you to a message window like. Here you can format your text and add a number of things such as pictures, videos, hyperlinks and smilies.
3) Quote If you would like to quote another member's post in your reply, click the Quote button right underneath Reply on their post. This will open a message window with the full quoted text already there, allowing you to edit it and add your own comment.
Q: How do I edit my post?
A: When you look at your finished post within a thread, there should be an Edit button on the left. Click this to get right back to your post and make the desired changes. Then click Save Changes at the bottom.
Q: How do I style and format my text?
A: There are several formatting options in the toolbar on top of your message window. Here you can change the size, font, and overall look of your text, align it left, right, and center, insert a table, bullet list, or horizontal rule. You can also remove all formatting with one click.
Q: How do I insert a link or a hyperlink?
A: You can insert a link by simply copy-and-pasting. You can make one or more words in your text a hyperlink by selecting them, then hitting the Link button in the toolbar. This opens up a dialogue box with the selected words already displayed in the top space. Simply enter your link URL in the bottom space and click Create Link.
Q: How can I see what my finished message will look like?
A: At the bottom of your message window, you will find two tabs titled Preview and BB Code. While the text might be in BB Code by default, you should always toggle on Preview while typing and formatting so you can see what your finished message will look like.
Q: How do I add a picture?
A: You have a number of different options here.
1)If you are using a picture from the internet, click the 'Insert Image' icon in the toolbar. This will open up a dialgue box where you can enter the your image URL and underneath, a bit of text. This text will serve as a placeholder. If your image cannot be displayed to other members for some reason, they can click on the text, which will take them right to the original location of the picture.
2)If you are using a picture from your computer, choose the 'Add Attachment' button in the top-left corner. In the dialogue box that opens, click 'Add files'. Once an image is uploaded, you have the option of inserting it into your text. The inserted image will display as a thumbnail in your finished post and opens in a separate window. If you just click 'Done' instead, the full-size image will be displayed below your post. Once your image is added, the 'Edit Attachment' button appears in case you want to edit or remove it.
Q: How do I insert a video?
A: Click the place in the text where you would like to insert the video. Then click the Insert Video button in the toolbar. Copy-and-paste the video URL, and click Insert video at the bottom of your dialog box.
Q: Can you explain some of the other toolbar features?
A: In addition to the ones above, you have the option to Insert Smilies from a drop-down menu, insert a quote which will be displayed in a separate little box, or Insert User Link, which will address another member directly (ex.: @tinystorm_45). There are two other buttons for linking to e-mail addresses and entering code, which we will most likely have no need for on this board.
Q: How can I add a poll?
A: Anyone can create a poll on the message boards. To add one to your thread, simply click the Add Poll button next to your thread's subject line inside the message window. Then enter your poll question and potential answers. Choose how many answers voters can select at a time, how long you want the poll to run, and when you would like to display the results.
